Tips for good web content
- Users should be able to scan the headings of your page to get the main ideas of your website without having to read any paragrpahs if they want to read paragraphs they will.
- Make sure you don't skip heading numbers for aesthetic. You always start with H1 don't skip to H3 because it looks better. H1, then H2 then H3. go in order.
- If we have a group of things to put together put them in a list because people are more likely to read things in lists.
- Keep paragraphs short and to the point.
- Provide links to relevant content if needed.
- At a minimum each page should end with a link to the next thing you want your users to do. This is a call-to-action.
- Links should be attached to an anchor text that describes what the user will see if they click the link. Don't use generic words like "click here" or "link" in favor of words that accurately describe the link.
End each page with a CTA or calls to action. It's a sentence that tells user what to do next and provides a link to the next page.
